Hardwood Floor Refinishing & Installation in Richmond Hill

From Oak Ridges to Langstaff, we sand and refinish hardwood floors and stairs, and install new hardwood and engineered floors in Richmond Hill houses, townhouses and condos.

Richmond Hill homes and their floors

The large detached homes in Bayview Hill, Westbrook and Jefferson often have site-finished hardwood across the main floor and grand staircases with wood treads and painted risers. Those floors take years of family traffic, chair scrapes and pets. Many owners also refinish when parents move in or a home is being prepared for sale. Older homes near the Mill Pond can have narrow-strip oak that is worth saving.

Condos and townhouses

Many Richmond Hill condo corporations set rules for flooring changes, often including a minimum acoustic underlay to limit noise to the unit below, plus booking and working-hour rules. Before we install a new floor in a condo, we check the corporation's requirements and plan the installation around them. Refinishing an existing floor in place usually raises fewer questions, but we still follow the building's rules on hours and access.

What we do

  • Full sanding, repairs and new protective finish coats
  • Buff and recoat when the wood only needs a fresh topcoat
  • Staircase refinishing and carpet-to-hardwood stair conversions
  • New solid and engineered hardwood installation (flooring installation)
  • Board repairs after leaks, with new boards woven in where practical
  • Baseboards and transitions (trim carpentry)

Our process

We check whether the floor is solid or engineered, how much wood is left to sand, and whether a full sand or a recoat is the better fit. You get a written, itemized quote with the schedule, and work we perform comes with a 1-year warranty. Our team brings 15 years of renovation experience in Ontario.

Questions from Richmond Hill homeowners

Can you install hardwood in my Richmond Hill condo?

Yes, once we've confirmed the condo corporation's flooring rules, which often include an acoustic underlay requirement, plus booking and working hours. We plan the installation to meet them.

Can pet scratches be sanded out?

Scratches in the finish can often be removed with a buff and recoat. Deeper scratches and dents in the wood itself need a full sand. Urine stains that have soaked into the wood may need boards replaced.

Can you match new boards to my existing floor?

Often, yes. After a leak repair or a removed wall, we weave new boards of the same species and width into the existing floor, then sand and finish the whole area together so it reads as one floor.
